Aerodrome course available In Person and Blended. This course is designed for ICAO students selected by Air Navigation Service Providers to become Air Traffic Controllers in a TWR environment. This course can either be part of students’ Initial Training, or a further Rating after working as an active Air Traffic Controller for several years. ICAO 052 – Aerodrome Control Course (8 Weeks)
Course Aim:
This course is designed to equip student air traffic controllers with the necessary knowledge and skills to earn a student certificate of competency for the ICAO Aerodrome Control Instrument rating, including Tower ratings.

Theory:
Theoretical training is delivered during the first two weeks, covering essential elements of Aerodrome Control operations.
Practical – Simulator Training:
The simulation starts with traffic handling on taxiways and runways, gradually increasing in complexity. Students will manage VFR traffic, taking into account wake turbulence separation and traffic integration with arrivals and departures. The second phase introduces IFR traffic, progressively combined with VFR operations.
The training builds practical skills as exercises become more challenging, requiring students to demonstrate judgement, prioritization, and the use of standard phraseology. The final phase covers routine occurrences and emergencies, emphasizing safety and the use of non-standard phraseology and plain English.
Practical Training:
Students receive 37 hours of practical training, including pre- and post-exercise briefings and debriefings. The Final Examination Exercises include an additional 2.5 hours of practical scenarios.
